All-natural ingredients
At Dr. Hauschka, we believe in doing things properly. Mineral oils, silicones, PEGs, synthetic preservatives - none of these make it into a Dr. Hauschka product. Instead, you'll find 100% natural raw ingredients, much of it organic and, where possible, grown according to biodynamic principles. Both our skincare and makeup ranges carry NATRUE certification, your assurance that what we say is what you'll find inside. But if you ask us, the truest mark of quality isn't a label at all - it's the name on the bottle: Dr. Hauschka.
A company built around nature
Dr. Hauschka Skincare has leaned on nature as its foundation since the company began in 1967. That means working with an extensive natural ingredient library - somewhere around 500 raw materials in total, spanning medicinal plants, essential oils, and a range of botanical oils and waxes.
Not all "natural" claims are equal
"Natural" isn't a passing trend in skincare - it's where things are genuinely heading, as more people look for products they can trust and understand. But just how natural is "natural," really? That's exactly the gap NATRUE label is designed to close - an international standard focused specifically on genuine natural and organic cosmetics, backed by independent testing institutes who check a product's ingredients and formulation before certification is granted. Every product across our skincare and makeup ranges is certified 100% natural cosmetics under this standard.
Going a step further into organic
Natural is our baseline, not our ceiling - wherever we can, we source an ingredient organically. Sometimes that's not possible through existing supply chains, so we've set up our own organic cultivation projects instead, which is how ingredients like rose oil, mango butter, castor oil and shea butter made it into our range. Right now, around 80% of our plant-based raw materials are organically cultivated, and we're actively pushing that number higher - partly by helping more of our raw material suppliers worldwide shift toward biodynamic, Demeter-certified growing methods.
Not every product is vegan - here's why
We work with ingredients from across the natural world, including plant, mineral, and sometimes animal too. So if vegan cosmetics are what you're specifically looking for, it's worth knowing that not every Dr. Hauschka formulation qualifies. What guides us instead is what a formulation is trying to achieve, and what your skin actually needs. Beeswax is a good example of how we incorporate a genuinely valuable gift from nature, thoughtfully and with good intention.
